Scheme
I'm renewing my like for Scheme. I'm trying to run in scsh, the scheme shell. It's a bit painful at times but it sure is forcing me to learn scheme. I'm also playing with scheme 48. One possiblity here is that eclstorage will morph into scmstorage. Here are some links
- http://www.schemers.org
- Scheme @ MIT
- The PLT scheme folks have a very nice package, though I want somthing more minimial. They also have a nice docs page here that has the R5RS report in pdf and Teach Yourself Scheme in Fixnum Days.
- The Scheme Wiki
- Scheme Planet

Concurrency
E Thesis: Robust Composition. E rates as a (very) important language for anyone interested in ideas of messaging, distribution and security. The nice thing about a thesis (such as this one and Joe Armstrong's) is that it gives a nice historical account of the related work and influences.

Sparcs
Even More silliness. I brought my old SparcStation4/110 up under Debian this weekend. It is quite quick though I had to build a kernel to include the TCX console driver. It was key to add the -initrd option to the building process. This is a very very quiet system.
Eiffel
Eiffel has been released as open source. This is quite cool
Networking
It seems that D-Link is quite unfriendly to NTP stratum 1 servers.
- When Firmware Attacks! (DDoS by D-Link)
- Open Letter to D-Link about their NTP vandalism. I've met Poul-Henning Kamp and he's quite a nice person.
